Every DayOne team member is dedicated to supporting patients before, during and
after surgery. We understand the unique needs and concerns of our patients and are
committed to providing you with a comfortable and caring environment throughout
the process. There are even members of our staff uniquely qualified to provide advice
and encouragement - they have had the Lap-Band surgery themselves!
Meet our Chicago Clinic Staff:
Patient Advocates - Gladys and Rebecca

As our Patient Advocates, Gladys and Rebecca are responsible for
providing continual emotional guidance and encouragement to our patients
throughout their weight loss surgery journey. They work with each patient to
address their questions, needs and/or concerns both before and after Lap-Band surgery.
In addition to building one-on-one relationships with every one of our patients, they
work closely with the Program Coordinator and Program Assistant to serve as liaison
between each patient and DayOne's staff. They are uniquely qualified for
the position as they are Lap-Band patients. Their personal experiences
with the surgery makes them a terrific source of information, advice and support
for current and potential patients.
.
Insurance Coordinators - Priscilla and Alisha
Priscilla and Alisha work directly with patients to help manage the insurance
predetermination/verification process.
Program Dietitian - Lauren, R.D., L.D.N.

As DayOne's dietitian, Lauren is responsible for the initial nutritional consult
that is part of the Lap-Band surgical approval process. Once approval for surgery is
finalized, she then works directly with each patient on pre- and post-operative Lap-Band
nutrition and diet guidelines. In addition, Lauren organizes and oversees the Lap-Band
Support Club that meets once a month.
Medical Assistant - Gwen

Gwen assists with all clinic visits prior to and following surgery. She is also responsible for
gathering the reports that come to our clinic from your medical tests and consults. She will contact
you if and when she is missing documents that we require for surgery approval.
