Jonathan A. Myers, MD
Dr. Myers, DayOne Health’s medical director, of the Chicago clinic has received special training in lap-band surgery. He completed his fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center and performed his residency at Rush University Medical Center and Cook County Hospital. As a resident, Dr. Myers achieved many honors. He was Chief Administrative Resident, was awarded the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons’ Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Surgeon Award and was credited with developing the Minimally Invasive Training Center at Rush.
Dr. Myers is board certified in General Surgery and is currently an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Rush Medical College. His special interests include: Minimally Invasive Surgery, Surgery of the Gastrointestinal Tract, and Biliopancreatic Surgery. In addition to laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding, he performs laparoscopic esophagectomy, gastrectomy, and pancreas resection as well as other new and innovative minimally invasive procedures.
Dr. Myers has been certified by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence® physician.
Dr. Myers has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals, book chapters, and presented his research at national meetings, including the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.
